Thanks for tuning back in. On this edition of Rookie Mastication, I'd like to highlight some unique competitors in the scene - a married couple by the name of "The Presidential Family". The family is led by two beautiful individuals who have an equally lovely family. However, the family doesn't participate nearly as much in their amateur eating challenges as they do their vlogs. Daily vlog style.
Recently I came across one of their videos, one of many, that highlighted a challenge they took on the conversation between healthy food and junk food. In the form of a challenge, unbelievable right? I think that is what truly sets them apart from the others on their level - their true commitment to the innovation of the challenge eating landscape.
Both Andre ("Mr. President"), and Marisa ("First Lady") both are unique competitors in the way they attempt the challenges - in their own ways.
Andre takes more of a presidential route like John F. Kennedy or William H. Taft. His outlook on life and our country truly represents a broader progression toward a streamlined challenge eating landscape. Something we're all working toward, but they seem to be working overtime for free (taxed).
Marisa however follows a strategy closer to that of a first lady, like Eleanor Roosevelt, Michelle Obama, or Eleanor Roosevelt. Her approach to food challenges baffle my intuition as a competitive eating critic, but somehow every video they produce blows my tiny little mind clean out of the water. Maybe someday they will leave some of their passion for the rest of us. I just can't get over the approach she takes when eating Doritos chips or the Twix bar. She sets her own bar and every. single. time. she raises that bar high into the sky.
Looking forward to many more casual approaches to the challenge circuit - including challenges that strive to twist the boundaries of their medium.
